The Premier League season kicked off last night at Old Trafford with Manchester United beating Leicester 2-1 and now the action begins again. The fixture of the weekend is Arsenal vs Manchester City on Sunday and according to The Telegraph, Petr Cech is expected to start at The Emirates and be handed the captain’s armband.

The article is centred around Unai Emery’s new leadership circle. The Spaniard has got five captains that he will trust with the armband throughout the season. Petr Cech, obviously, is one of them as he’s supposedly going to start tomorrow and he’s joined by currently injured Laurent Koscielny and then midfield trio Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil to make up the five.
In pre-season, Arsenal fans were lucky enough to see Mesut Ozil captain the side against PSG and with Xhaka wearing the armband at Old Trafford last season it’s no surprise to see those two in the five. Aaron Ramsey is one of the longest-standing members of the squad alongside Koscielny and their leadership qualities are undisputed. The fans will be delighted with their captains but will be less happy with the early team news that has hinted at Petr Cech starting ahead of new summer signing, Bernd Leno.

Cech has tapes of Kroenke. It's the only possible answer.

The fans would have been keen to see Leno start against Manchester City but it looks like they’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see their new ‘keeper in action.
