Arsenal fans have plenty of reason to be excited over the January transfer window. Unai Emery has already shown that he’s not afraid to splash out he needs to and when he managed to bring in the likes of Lucas Torreira and Bernd Leno over the summer the fans were ecstatic. Now, with January approaching, there have been various reports claiming he could swoop for Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.

Aouar has been one of Lyon’s stand-out players over the last year or so. Alongside the likes of Nabil Fekir, Memphis Depay and Tanguy Ndombele he’s been touted as the next ace to be poached by one of the world’s biggest clubs. However, for a price of just £36 million he could be the next steal to end up at The Emirates after Lucas Torreira was signed for around £10 million less.
The fans have full faith in Emery and his team, consisting of the brilliant Sven Mislintat, Vinai Venkatesham and Raul Sanllehi, to go ahead and sign exactly who the club needs in the January window, but the problem will be the finances. It’s highly unlikely that Stan Kroenke will afford the club millions of pounds to spend, so if the club do move for the near £40 million man, it could leave them with very little money to make more signings.

Never heard of him but I said the same about Torriera and Guendouzi. Just saying trust Unai Emery. Another masterclass incoming…

Top player. Definitely would be another Torreira level transfer if we are serious.

This kid is good. Followed him and Diakhaby who's now in Valencia.

The lad is quality. One of the lynchpin‘ did the current Lyon side. Surprised Nabil Fekir is still there too…

The Gunners absolutely love the idea of signing Aouar and will hope the young Frenchman can have the same impact at The Emirates that Lucas Torreira has managed.
