Arsenal fans on Twitter can’t work out why Jenkinson still plays for them

You can forgive a lot of Arsenal fans for not knowing that Carl Jenkinson is still at their club. The 26-year-old signed from Charlton back in 2011 and has been able to leave his mark at The Emirates, playing just 62 games in seven years at the club, an average of around nine games a season.

The Englishman is currently suffering from an ankle injury and it’s likely that the fact he’s sidelined stopped him from getting a move away from the club over the summer. However, even when he’s fit it’s unlikely that he’ll have many suitors. Last season he was loaned to Birmingham where he missed most of the season with a shoulder injury. Although all in all his time in Birmingham was nothing short of a complete shambles.

The 26-year-old featured for the Championship outfit nine times last season and found himself on the losing side eight times. The only exception being a 1-1 draw against Huddersfield in the FA Cup, although they lost the replay 4-1. It looks like Jenkinson is the luckiest man in the Arsenal squad at the moment and if he does somehow make a career for himself as a Gunner then he truly will be a miracle worker.

The Arsenal fans can’t believe how Jenkinson is still at the club and won’t be surprised when he’s eventually sold.
