Arsenal fans on Twitter desperate not to repeat Manchester United’s fate

Tonight sees Arsenal host Brentford in the Carabao Cup third round and the fans are confident of extending their winning run and overcoming a tough Brentford side. However, plenty of Arsenal fans have been commenting about trying to avoid doing a ‘Man United’ after the Red Devils were eliminated on penalties in the competition yesterday by Frank Lampard’s Derby County.

Unai Emery will be expected to ring the changes later tonight and it will be no surprise to see the likes of Rob Holding, Eddie Nketiah and Mohammed Elneny start the match against the Championship outfit. Nevertheless, The Gunners will still be expected to overcome Brentford and make it into the 4th round draw no matter what side Emery fields later on.

The fans loved watching United bailout of the competition at the first hurdle and will be desperate to avoid the same fate. Derby County put in a great performance last night and considering they beat Brentford 3-1 at Pride Park on the weekend the Gunners shouldn’t have as hard a task to reach the next round as Man United did. Either way, though, they’ll have to be on their toes to try and avoid a shock third-round exit like Jose Mourinho pulled off.
