Arsenal fans on Twitter found positives in Iwobi’s Everton display

For the Arsenal fans who travelled to Merseyside yesterday, it truly was a day to forget. However, some Gunners have been trying to pick the positives from the loss, and one of the few things to be happy about was Alex Iwobi’s performance off the bench, as the Nigerian winger came on and provided some creativity in the last 20 minutes.
Terrible to say the least, Absolutely ruined my weekend. I can’t think of one player who we can say had a good game. Just not acceptable at this level. This is Arsenal Football Club, we fans deserve so much better.

There was a stark contrast between the performances from Everton and Arsenal. Whilst every single one of the Toffees took the game to the Gunners and looked like a classy side, you can count on one hand the Arsenal players who looked up for the fight. One of those was Iwobi, though, and the winger was the only one who was looking to probe and make things happen after his introduction in the second half.
Unai Emery looked to Iwobi as his third and final substitution at Goodison Park having already used his first two changes at the break to bring Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang into the clash. If the Gunners had any complaints about Iwobi’s introduction it would be that it didn’t come soon enough, and who can blame them considering how effective the youngster looked. Now the fans will just be calling for Iwobi to be given more game time next time out against Napoli.

Iwobi was good when he came on

Leno and Iwobi played well..

That’s a fair pointI also thought Iwobi made a good impact when he came on. In any case, that’s still only 4 players who didn’t play badly. We better improve vs Watford! Will be unbearable hearing the media harp on about those Deeney quotes again!

I thought your boy Ramsey was going to change the game? He played okay he lost the ball so much though iwobi was the main man today and he only played 20 mins

Leno and Iwobi who should have come on much earlier

@Gunnie67 never a truer statement said! Iwobi literally done more in his 10 mins he was on than the whole team who played 90 mins

Sokratis/Leno/Iwobi(for 20 mins, should have started, which I said from get go) were only ones that played up to standard

Leno, Sokratis and Iwobi was very lively

The Gunners had little to celebrate yesterday, but Iwobi was their only bright spark and they’ll be hoping he can be equally as bright against Napoli and Watford in their next two games.
