This season has been a turbulent one for the Gunners. Unai Emery’s time at the club has been fairly hit and miss, after going unbeaten for 22 matches, things have come off the rails slightly as they’ve suffered away defeats to Southampton and West Ham whilst also being held away at Brighton, and the fans have little belief in a top-four spot.
Will Arsenal make the top four this season?

Popular Arsenal fan account, AFTV, took to Twitter yesterday to ask the fans whether or not they thought their side would be finishing in the top four come to the end of the season, and the results were damning. Only 14% of Arsenal fans had faith in making the Champions League next season, and the majority of the fans would probably be shocked to see their side finish 5th at this rate.
The Gunners’ 1-0 away loss to West Ham on Saturday was one that left a lot to be desired. The Gunners were shocking throughout in every phase of play, and their sloppiness came to haunt them when they left Declan Rice with acres of space in the middle of their box. It was a performance that deserved a return of zero points, and it’s left them in a position where they look likely to finish at the bottom of the pile in regards to the Premier League’s big six, for a second consecutive season.

No one is showing signs of wanting to be on top in the team
The players show no urgency

We are the weakest of the big teams. Only reason we are a big team is cuz of 20 years of making money by getting into the champions league.

Unbeaten run led to delusions of grandeur. Europa league? Not without reinforcements. So 6th place is the new top 4. #afc

The Gunners would do anything for a top four spot this season, but they’re realistic in knowing that their chances are slim.
