A lot of Arsenal fans have been mulling over the 2-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday and looking at what went well, what didn’t and what they’ll need to change when they travel to Stamford Bridge this weekend. However, they all seem to agree that Ian Wright’s comments in The Sun about new signing, Matteo Guendouzi were all bang on.
“Yes, he found it tough going at times against City but what impressed me was his attitude and effervescence. It would have been easy to hide – let’s face it, others in the Arsenal side did – but he was still demanding the ball”

Matteo Guendouzi looks like an unbelievable signing from Unai Emery, the teenager signed from Ligue 2 and came in as a completely unknown man. Some fans will have written him off before he played but it seems they’ll have been stupid to do that. Whilst he didn’t always look amazing against Manchester City, the youngster refused to hide and stood up to the occasion, something that not every Arsenal player can say for themselves.
With time, Guendouzi will be one of those who is expected to carry the flag for The Gunners. His tidy passing display and ability to beat a man will make him a superb partner for fellow new signing, Lucas Torreira, who is more prepared to get his hands dirty at The Emirates. That then leave just one position in the club’s three-man midfield available and whoever it fills it won’t have to worry about what’s behind him with Torreira and Guendouzi doing bits from deep.
You can read The Gunners’ Guendouzi verdict here:
I believe he is a true fighter and will do great for us. If we had two more players on the field with his attitude, we'd have done better against city.

"All things considered" (i.e. age, lack of experience, etc.), I think he was brilliant. Very encouraging and I look forward to his future…

EXACTLY took the game by the neck , while 3 of the men Emery wants to be CAPTAIN were completely ineffective and squandering possession ,total overhaul needed , too many cowards and timid players , need more guys like this

The fans are all convinced that Guendouzi is the real deal and they’re all in complete agreement with Ian Wright’s comments.
