Arsenal fans have had plenty of players leave them and show a lack of loyalty over the years, and whilst most of them are hated by the fans, Cesc Fabregas sits in a funny category. The Spaniard left The Emirates for Barcelona, and when he returned to England it was with Chelsea, a move that left plenty of Gunners devastated.

However, it’s certainly worth remembering just how good the classy Spaniard was in his time in North London. The Gunners seem to agree that he’s one of the best players to have donned the famous red and white Arsenal shirt since their invincible side, and it’s hard to argue with that when you take a look at some of the performances that the maestro put in before leaving for Barcelona.
One day, the Gunners probably wouldn’t be against seeing Fabregas move back to the club in some capacity, and it seems that the now-Monaco man wouldn’t be against that given his ties to the club. His legacy will forever be tarnished by that spell with Chelsea, though, and those years with the Blues are the only thing that gets in the way of Fabregas’ legend status at the club.

There will always be mixed feelings about Fabregas amongst the Gunners, but his Chelsea move has ensured he’ll never be viewed in the same light as the likes of Thierry Henry and other Arsenal greats.
