Overall, the summer window was very successful for Arsenal. Unai Emery brought in five new players during the window and the supporters would have been keen to get one more player in, preferably Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona. According to RAC1, via The Express, The Gunners did make a late move for the Frenchman.
Arsenal did make an offer for Ousmane Dembele (€10m initial loan + €90m for permanent transfer), but Barcelona did not pass the offer onto the player as they didn't believe he had any interest in leaving. [Rac1] pic.twitter.com/gDebrHCwq8

According to the report from RAC1, Arsenal wanted to take Dembele on loan for a 10 million euro loan fee with the option to a further 90 million euros next summer for the permanent transfer of the 21-year-old winger. A lot of supporters would be desperate to see the Frenchman at The Emirates and believe that he’s the one thing that they need to propel them towards being a Premier League winning side.
For now, the Gunners will have to get by with just the front four of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. They should be fine with the four of those going at the opposition but if they had secured the signing of Dembele they would look like an entirely different side going into their Premier League opener against Manchester City on Sunday.

Well at least we tried, he can sit on the bench for Barca while we enjoy watching @ReissNelson9 tear up the league instead.

As you can see, the fans aren’t best pleased with this Dembele update and will be hoping he can get the deal over the line in January or next summer.
