Suffering a major injury as a professional football is the worst possible thing that can happen. The career of a top level pro is short as it is and to have it cut even shorter by injury is awful. In the case of Laurent Koscielny’s case, it’s made even worse as because of his setback he was forced to miss the World Cup, which his native France went on to win.
Laurent Koscielny says that he felt ‘forgotten’ by his friends during his injury period and also adds that France’s world cup victory did him a lot of psychological harm than his injury. Goes on to add that winning the World Cup was his dream. #afc

Koscielny has now announced his retirement from international football and had some rather depressing comments when discussing the matter. The 32-year-old claimed that he felt forgotten by his friends and seeing his nation win the World Cup did him a lot of psychological harm, especially seeing as it was always his dream to win the World Cup. Now, though, a lot of Gunners are coming to support the Frenchman and help him get back on his feet.
With his international career over, Koscielny will be focusing on his Arsenal days. He may be 32-years-old but as a centre-back, he easily has a few more years left in him at the top. The key thing for the Arsenal man will be how well he adjusts after recovering from such an awful injury. When Koscielny first suffered his ruptured achilles it looked like it could be the end for the 32-year-old, but he’s not going to let it stop him as he aims to return to The Gunners’ first team and show that he still has what it takes to be a Premier League defender.

So so sad that in life, most people will forget you in your hard times but will only remember or value you in your good time. It does not only happen in football.

The Gunners will always get behind their players and Koscielny is no different as they hope to see him back in the first-team as soon as possible.
