Mesut Ozil has officially been an Arsenal player for five years after he left Real Madrid on deadline day back in the summer window of 2013. The German playmaker was at it yesterday when he helped his side edge past Cardiff 3-2 and the fans are keen to see more of their creator at The Emirates.

Ozil is often used as one of The Gunners whipping boys and it’s easy to see why. The 29-year-old ex-Los Blancos star rarely covers the most ground on the pitch and after seeing him fail to impress in a number of big games in is five years at the club, the supporters are often left wondering why they forked out such a large fee to sign the German. Then, he’ll put in a display like yesterdays and the fans are back onside.
It’s true that the German failed to register a goal or an assist in South Wales, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t impressive as he helped to dictate the tempo during the game and he even managed to track back and help out defensively. Whatever Unai Emery is doing with Ozil, it seems to be working and the fans will be keen to see him continue to show the level of performance that he did against Cardiff for the rest of the season.

The fans are keen to see more from Ozil but will be like what they’ve seen so far as his work rate has improved this season.
