Jefferson Lerma stole the show yesterday at The Vitality Stadium when the Colombian midfielder almost scored world-class goals at both ends during Bournemouth’s 2-1 home loss to Arsenal. The Cherries record signing, just weeks after opening his account for the club against Newcastle, fired in a spectacular, yet bizarre, own goal after just 30 minutes, and The Gunners loved it.
We finally beat Begovic – thanks to Lerma’s finish

A lot of Arsenal fans have come to call their team ‘Second Half FC’ at times this season for the way they start games slowly and are unable to take a lead into the half-time break, even though yesterday it seemed they had 12 players looking to see them do so. Lerma’s half-volleyed scissor-kick own-goal flew past Asmir Begovic just after the half an hour mark to give The Gunners a 1-0 lead, but Josh King replied in stunning fashion on the brink of half-time.
The score was eventually made 2-1 to Arsenal when Sead Kolasinac grabbed his second assist of the game, this time laying it on a plate for one of his teammates in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who made no mistake to slide home from close range. The travelling fans appreciated the win and will be delighted to pick up momentum going into next weekend’s North London Derby, but in truth, without Lerma, The Gunners may find themselves struggling against a tough Tottenham side.

The Gunners loved Lerma’s strike and will hope the midfielder can force a move to Arsenal to add more stunning goals to his collection for the club.
