Arsenal fans have been reminiscing over Cesc Fabregas’ debut for the club, which came 16 years ago today against Rotherham United in the League Cup.

As a result, the Spaniard became the youngest player in the club’s history, a record he still holds today.
He enjoyed a fairly long career at the club, making 306 appearances as he scored 59 goals and assisted a further 92 in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
However, things soon turned sour for Fabregas after he made the decision to join Chelsea when he left hometown club Barcelona in 2014 (via HITC).
His time at Stamford Bridge proved successful as he went on to lift five major honours, including two Premier League titles.
Despite all the ill feelings that used to exist, fans were remembering the good old days when a fresh-faced 16-year-old walked onto the Highbury turf for the first time.
