Arsenal: Fans slate Hector Bellerin after last night’s rescue act from Nicolas Pepe

Arsenal fans were slating Hector Bellerin for his performance in the 3-2 win over Vitoria S.C. in the Europa League.

The Spain international is making his way back to full fitness after suffering a serious knee injury in the win over Chelsea last season.

Bellerin lost possession of the ball the joint-third number of times and committed the joint-second most number of fouls of any Arsenal player in last night’s game (via WhoScored).

Arsenal’s blushes were spared as two late Nicolas Pepe goals saw the Gunners seal a dramatic victory.

Bellerin’s start yesterday was his third of the season, however, the Spanish fullback is yet to start a game in the Premier League for the Gunners (via Transfermarkt).

Bellerin seemed to send a thinly-veiled dig at manager Unai Emery about the club’s style of play, claiming it’s in the club’s DNA to play better football (via Caught Offside).

Fans weren’t too pleased with the 24-year-old’s performance as they took to Twitter to react.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Emirates Stadium faithful:

Arsenal fans, did Bellerin look off the pace to you? Let us know your thoughts!
