Arsenal fans still loving Iwobi’s Stamford Bridge performance

ARsenal are yet to pick up any points in the Premier League after two games have been played, but that’s not to say they aren’t trying. They’ve faced the toughest two openers of any side, losing to Manchester City and Chelsea, but one man caught the eye at Stamford Bridge and the fans are still raving over Alex Iwobi.

A lot of Arsenal fans had written off Iwobi after the last couple of years under Arsene Wenger. The Nigerian stagnated under Wenger’s regime despite looking very sharp when he first broke into the team. Now, though, under Unai Emery, it looks like he’s going to start performing to his best again and looking sharp in the system. Considering the players he has around him, it shouldn’t be too hard to create and finish chances.

The 22-year-old scored the Gunners equaliser at Stamford Bridge after Henrikh Mkhitaryan had halved the deficit. Emery’s side looked good in the second half and showed signs of winning the game, however, a late Marcos Alonso strike meant they ended the match with zero points from two games. If they can put in a performance like the one on Saturday against West Ham this weekend then they’ll be much more likely to get some points on the board.
