Arsenal are in desperate need of some new additions at the back, and considering that Juventus are keen to take Aaron Ramsey off their hands this January, the Gunners may sanction an early exit for the Welshman. For this to happen, the Serie A leaders must allow Medhi Benatia to go the other way, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via The Mail.

Whether or not this is realistic is a different story, but the Gunners would absolutely love to sign Benatia. The Moroccan international is a tough-tackling old-school defender who is held in extremely hugh regard by Juventus fans. However, the Old Lady have a plethora of central defenders, and considering how much they want to sign Ramsey, it would be no surprise for them to let Benatia go to secure the Welshman early.
Aaron Ramsey has known he will be on his way out of Arsenal for a long time, and whilst the fans aren’t all happy that he’s going to be making his Arsenal bow, the blow would be softened significantly if they had a player like Benatia coming the other way. The only issue with the Juventus defender is that he’s already 31-years-old, and the Gunners are keen to bring in someone for the future. For the short-term, though, Benatia is a perfect option.

I'd take benatia and denis suarez and one more signing this will be a successful January

Was Juve's best defender in the second half of the season last year, I watched a recent interview where he said he wanted to leave..Emery shoud easily get the best out of him again. He thinks he was treated unfairly at Juventus because he gave all last season when bonucci's left

I would be happy with this signing – Benatia is an experienced and talented Moroccan International and played at Roma/Bayern & Currently Juve. We have been linked with him before so let’s see what Emery can pull off. Holding, Sokratis, Benatia, Koscielny, Mustafi.

A lot of Arsenal fans would love to see this one come through, although it’s unclear how likely Juventus are to let Benatia leave this month.
