For some legendary former players, management is just not meant to be. That seems to be the case with Thierry Henry, as his time at Monaco has been an utter disaster, and The Mirror are reporting that he could be facing the sack as Ligue 1’s 19th placed club are set to appoint former boss Leonardo Jardim back in charge to save them from the drop.

A lot of Arsenal fans have been coming to terms with how their former hero has been getting on in the dugout, and some of them cannot believe that they all called for the Frenchman to be the man to replace Arsene Wenger back in the summer. It looks like they’ve dodged a bullet in that one, and now Henry’s managerial reputation lies in tatters as his Monaco side has been nothing short of woeful.
In truth, Henry was up against it from the start. The French club have been going through a mass injury crisis, have suffered their heaviest ever home defeat in Europe, losing 4-0 to Club Brugge, and have failed to win a single home game since Henry’s appointment. It will be tough for Arsenal’s record goalscorer to recover from his torrid start to life in the dugout, and the Gunners are just glad he didn’t suffer those issues at The Emirates.
You can read the Gunners’ reaction to Henry’s imminent sacking here:
I love the guy, but to think we almost had him as a manager

The Gunners will be desperate to see Henry succeed as a manager but until he can prove successful they won’t be calling for him at The Emirates.
