Arsenal fans take to Twitter to demand Lichtsteiner plays no part in North London Derby

When it comes to huge fixtures in the Premier League, none are bigger than the North London Derby. This will be the 3rd and final time that the Lilywhites will be facing the Gunners this season, and ahead of the clash a lot of Arsenal fans have been praying that Stephan Lichtsteiner, despite his return from injury, plays no part.

Arsenal fans will have had mixed emotions when hearing their latest injury update on their club website. The fact that their skipper is back in Laurent Koscielny is a huge boost, yet they’re all a little bit wary of the fact that they may have to endure 90 minutes of watching a 35-year-old past-it Lichtsteiner up and down their right flank against someone like Heung-Min Son.

The two players who could be put in at that space on the right-hand side of the Gunners’ back four are Lichtsteiner and Carl Jenkinson, and neither of those two are Arsenal quality. When fit, Hector Bellerin is the star man at right-back for the club, yet whilst he’s out all the fans are interested in is making sure that their Swiss import from last summer is nowhere near the starting eleven.

The Gunners are keen to get through tomorrow without panicking that Lichtsteiner will let them down at any point and will hope Jenkinson is the man trusted to start.
