Arsenal fans take to Twitter to laud Koscielny following Leno comments

Laurent Koscielny has been out of action at The Emirates since he suffered a horror injury back in March. In the Gunners Europa League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid, the Frenchman ruptured his achilles tendon and has been out ever since. However, as he nears a return, Bernd Leno has revealed he gave a speech before the North London derby on the importance of the game.

The French defender, on his day, used to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League and he is desperately unlucky that he doesn’t have a World Cup winners medal after his injury saw him miss the summer tournament. That, though, is now all in the past and he’ll instead be looking forward to making his full return to senior action having featured for the Gunners in the Premier league 2 and EFL Trophy with the age group sides.

Koscielny will be a welcome boost for Unai Emery. The 33-year-old brings more than just experience on the pitch as his leadership qualities off of it also make him a valuable member to the squad in North London, and as an established Champions League quality player, he’ll understand exactly what it means to the fans and the club to regain a spot at Europe’s top footballing table with a spot in the top four this season.

You can read what the Gunners made of Leno’s comments on Koscielny here:

The Gunners still believe that Koscielny belongs at The Emirates and will be buzzing to see him back out on the pitch soon.
