It will come as no shock that Arsenal fans absolutely adore Lucas Torreira. The Uruguayan midfielder has been a superb asset ever since he signed for the Gunners over the summer, and as the fans have had the chance to read his version of ‘In My Own Words’, a feature on the Arsenal website, they’ve only come to love him more.
"It was very hard for me to get where I am now. That´s why it's so enjoyable. I’ve had to work so hard to get to this stage in my career but for me, the hard work has only just started."@LTorreira34's journey to north London is well worth a read
Reading about their pint-sized superstar has only brought the Gunners a greater affinity to the player. The 23-year-old writes about his experiences growing up in a small town in Uruguay called Fray Bentos, the same town that Gaston Ramirez also hails from, and how he made the journey halfway across the world to follow his footballing dream at the age of just 17-years-old when he had a trail for Pescara in Italy.
Since then the youngster has only thrived. He’s almost spent a whole six years on the continent now and in that time he’s risen from an unknown South American midfielder to one of the fiercest talents in the Premier League. With every minute that the ex-Sampdoria man spends on the pitch, his value increases and the Gunners are more and more grateful that forked out for him over the summer with every game that goes by.

The Gunners absolutely love Torreira and will hope he can continue to improve at the same rate that he’s been going at since signing last summer.
