As is always the case in professional football, and the Premier League especially, the fans are always there to both spur on and get on the backs off players. At Arsenal there is often a lot of negativity from the fans towards the players, yet as AFTV have asked fans to rate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s season, the ratings have mostly been high.

Arsenal’s Gabonese frontman truly is electric. Wherever the striker’s played he’s scored goals and The Emirates is seeing that this season. However, whilst goals are Auba’s forte, he also misses a lot of big chances. The recent penalty miss against Tottenham at Wembley was a huge one, but he bounced back well with goals against Manchester United and Stade Rennais in the following week.
Had Auba scored that penalty at Wembley, though, he’d be leading the race for the Golden Boot alongside Sergio Aguero. At the moment, the Man City man has 18 goals whilst Auba, Harry Kane, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane all have 17. It will make tough reading for the Arsenal striker, though, as he leads the way for big chances missed too, having spurned 19 golden opportunities, and you can see those stats on the FPL website.
You can see what the Gunners have made of Auba’s season so far here:
A solid 8. Could and should be easily higher rated but he misses so many clear cut chances and he should be on at least 20+ league goals and ahead for the Golden Boot because of it

7/10 could be higher if he was a little more composed and clinical with some of the shots but still great

7, yes he’s been our top scorer however the chances he’s missed (the big one, the spurs penalty) could prove costly in the rear end of this season in a very very tight top 4 race

7.5. Could easily be 10 but he misses a lot of open chances. @Aubameyang7

7.5 exactly what Is expected of him, could of been a 9 if it wasn’t for missing some easy chances

7/10. I'm sorry but he's missed so many chances. Could easily be 9 or 10

Leading scorer. Pretty agile in most games.
Needs to finish more and better.

7/10 – The chances he has missed are unforgiving, had he put most of them away because you can’t always get em all, he would he a 10/10

The Gunners all seem to agree that whilst Auba has been a shining light for them this season, his record of tucking away the clear-cut chances is not good enough. and will be something to improve for the 2019/20 campaign.
