Arsenal fans tear into Carragher after Chelsea comparison

Arsenal fans have enjoyed a good weekend. Whilst they may have failed to get that elusive away clean sheet, they won at Huddersfield to keep on the pressure on the race for the top four. It did help that Chelsea got smashed 6-0 by Manchester City, although the Gunners didn’t appreciate Jamie Carragher comparing Chelsea to them during the defeat.
"It looks like he has turned Chelsea into Arsenal, The Arsenal that used to get battered in big games."
– Jamie Carragher on Maurizio Sarri

With Jamie Carragher on punditry duty during the clash, he was asked about Maurizio Sarri’s job at Stamford Bridge during the half time break. By this point, Manchester City were already flying at 4-0 up having scored their quartet of goals inside the opening 20 minutes, and Carragher claimed Sarri had turned Chelsea into Arsenal in terms of getting battered in the big games.
Whilst his comment certainly rings true given some of the recent scorelines that Arsenal have recorded against top teams, it was something that cut deep amongst the Gunners. They were far from happy to have been humiliated by the ex-Liverpool man on Sky Sports and were quick to take snide digs at the defender over the fact he’s never won the Premier League, although in truth they can’t argue against the pundit’s comments.

He never used to say that when Henry left him without his boots on numerous occasions.

Why’s everyone so quick to mention our names? I understand we were bad but this is coming from Carragher who hasn’t won a league table.

The Gunners weren’t happy to have their names mentioned by Carragher and would have preferred to have enjoyed Chelsea’s humiliation in peace.
