Arsenal: Fans thrilled with links with former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique

Arsenal fans are thrilled after the club were linked with a move for former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique as a replacement for Unai Emery.

According to journalist Kike Marin, Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi is on the hunt for a new head coach and has held talks with the former manager of the Spain national side.

Enrique’s most successful season as a manager came in the 2014/2015 season when he won the treble with the Catalan giants (via Transfermarkt)

Emery has been coming under increasing pressure recently with the Gunners having gone five games without a win across all competitions.

There have been calls for him to be sacked by the north London faithful, however, according to The Athletic, the Spaniard retains the support of the hierarchy at the Emirates Stadium.

Leicester City’s 2-0 win yesterday meant the side has now suffered their worst start to a league season since the 1982/1983 campaign, having acquired just 17 points from 12 games (via BBC).

The thought of Enrique managing the side seems to excite many of the fans as they took to Twitter to react.

Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
