Last night was a game to remember for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian winger, who hasn’t been in the best of form as of late, came off the bench for Unai Emery’s side against his former club and made an instant impact, setting up Alexandre Lacazette to score, although the goal has since been credited to Marcos Rojo as an own goal.
“Thanks for coming to Old Trafford… you were amazing today.”

The former Manchester United man has come in for a lot of stick this season. Emery loves making a half-time change when things aren’t working, which seems to be quite a lot as the Gunners are yet to be winning a game at the break this season, and often that change sees Mkhitaryan having to make way. Unfortunately, the fans get on his back for that, and last night saw him get his own back as he came off the bench to shine against a tired Man United.
Jose Mourinho is being made to look more of a mug every day for his decision to swap Mkhitaryan for Alexis Sanchez, and a whole host of other reasons, Mainly, though, the fact that he let Mkhi go for Alexis and the Armenian has proved to be much the better signing so far, with one of his five goals for the Gunners coming at Old Trafford back in April. The key for the Armenian now will be maintaining his form over the festive period and making himself an undroppable force in Emery’s midfield.

Micki has performed excellent today..we wish that this was how he would be performing every match

Played very well today tbh. Gets a lot of stick but got an assist today and was attacking very dangerously. #mikhimagic

The Gunners loved Mkhi’s Old Trafford display and will be keen to see him show what he’s all about in the coming months.
