Arsenal: Fans unforgiving after Granit Xhaka ‘apologises’ for incident versus Crystal Palace

Arsenal fans have been unforgiving of Granit Xhaka after the midfielder made an ‘apology’ over his conduct when he was substituted in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
The Switzerland international released a statement last night alluding to the abuse he receives and saying he regretted his actions last weekend (via Arsenal).
Should Xhaka ever play for Arsenal again?
No

Yes

However, he stopped short of making a full apology, instead, telling the fans he didn’t mean to ‘disrespect’ them and that he was sorry if that’s ‘what they thought’.
Last week wasn’t the first time £36m-rated Xhaka (via Transfermarkt) has enjoyed a stormy relationship with the Emirates Stadium faithful, with the 27-year-old also being booed during his substitution against Aston Villa earlier in the season (via The Metro).
After his ‘apology’, it seems the fans weren’t in much of a forgiving mood as they took to Twitter to blast the Swiss player.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
But this isn’t an apology m it’s just shifting blame

I don’t see any apology for disrespecting the badge and throwing the shirt on the floor.

Thanks for the fake apology but it’s time to strip you of captaincy and time to say goodbye
