Arsenal supporters have been treated to some fine attacking football this season under their new manager, but there is a growing feeling that Unai Emery might have made a mistake by allowing Reiss Nelson to leave on loan.
Emery’s array of attacking players are thriving under his leadership so far this season, but a succession of unfortunate injury problems could leave him desperately short of options.
Meanwhile, Academy product Reiss Nelson, 18, is beginning to prove his enormous potential at both club and international level.
Indeed, he has started his Hoffenheim career in bright form with 2 goals from 3 Bundesliga appearances – a return which earned him a deserved call-up to England’s U21 squad recently.
He capped an impressive cameo appearance against Andorra with a goal on his debut, but he really caught the attention of the footballing world yesterday evening with a mesmerising free-kick against Scotland.
With the scores tied at 0-0, Nelson stepped up to take a free-kick in the 60th minute and he broke the deadlock with an emphatic strike.

Nelson’s moment of brilliance took his tally to 4 goals for the season at both club and international level and it provided Emery with another insight into the extent of his quality.
And after watching Nelson’s Instagram video, the Arsenal supporters who believe he should have stayed at the Emirates this summer have even more reason to be feel aggrieved by his temporary departure.
