Arsenal: Fans wish legend Charlie George a happy birthday

Arsenal fans have been wishing club legend Charlie George a happy birthday with the club posting a video of one of his goals.
The recently-turned 69-year-old scored the winning goal in the 1971 FA Cup final against Liverpool as the north London giants won the league and cup double.
During a six-year career with the club, the Englishman made 179 appearances for the club, scoring 49 goals (via Arsenal).
He scored in just his third game at the club against West Bromwich Albion. However, he fell foul of the club’s disciplinary procedures and was sent to the reserves for three months as a result.
The attacker made just one appearance for England, playing in the 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland.
Fans wished the player, who was voted as Arsenal’s 9th greatest player of all time, a happy birthday as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
Most Arsenal ever Arsenal player (up there with Big Tony). Saw him as a teenager playing in the youth team (as was) against Luton’s reserves in the mid 60’s. My Dad took me. Dad said “he’s gonna be special”. He was. I’ve loved The Arsenal ever since.

Happy birthday Charlie, great goal and great times. I was 8 years old at the time, and remember watching the game with my elder brother ( was an Arsenal fan too ) and Grandfather. Certainly brings back the memories. Thank you for sharing.
