Arsenal fans would happily let Ospina stay at Napoli permanently

David Ospina has become something of a forgotten man at Arsenal. The Colombian shot-stopper joined the club in summer 2014 after a successful World Cup campaign for his country. However, after failing to nail down the number one spot at The Emirates, he’s opted to join Napoli on loan and according to Il Mattino, via Tribuna.com, the Colombian is keen to make his loan move permanent.

Ospina’s four years at Arsenal haven’t been memorable ones for the fans. The 30-year-old helped his side to two FA Cup wins and one Community Shield triumph but he’s mostly been left to play second fiddle to the likes of Petr Cech and Wojceich Szczesny during his four seasons. Now, though, he’s finally getting the chance to be the number one at Napoli and has impressed so far, recently keeping clean sheets against Liverpool and Sassuolo.

The 91-cap international will be delighted to finally be the main man at a club and it comes as no surprise that he’s keen to stay in Naples after the club have shown faith in him to make him the first choice between the sticks at the Stadio San Paulo. The fee that Napoli will have to pay the Gunners will likely be a minimal one and The Gunners seem just as keen as Ospina to make the move a permanent one as they currently have Cech and Bernd Leno battling for the number one jersey in North London.

The Gunners like the idea of offloading Ospina to Napoli permanently and will hope it can be a deal that goes through as quickly and easily as possible.
