Supposed Arsenal target Lucas Biglia would jump at the chance to play in the Premier League or Serie A, according to the player’s agent.
The 25-year-old Argentine has been linked with a handful of clubs in recent months, including the likes of Fiorentina, AC Milan and Manchester United, after impressing for club and country in the past few seasons.
However, it appears Biglia is ready to quit Anderlecht in January and join a top European side.
His agent, Enzo Montepaone, recently told Calciomercato.com that the midfielder would favour a move to England or Italy and could make the switch as early as January, with Arsenal and Fiorentina being favourites to land the midfield star:
‘I know that Fiorentina officials went to Belgium to have a look at him and that they spoke to Anderlecht about trying to sign him in January.’
‘Interest from AC Milan? Yes, I can confirm that there has been in the past, but there has never been anything concrete.
‘Fiorentina’s interest is real, but Arsenal also like him a lot.
‘Italy has always been his dream and, as he holds an Italian passport, a move to Italy is very likely. It is, however, important to pay attention to Arsenal.’
But despite previous interest in the 25-year-old Argentine international, Arsene Wenger doesn’t appear keen to enter the winter market unless absolutely necessary, and with Jack Wilshere returning to the squad next month, a move for the 5’10’’ midfielder may appear unlikely this January, regardless of recent reports or quotes from agents.
Nonetheless, Wenger has stated this in the past and done the opposite, so anything is possible.
Biglia is valued at around £9million and is contracted to Anderlecht until 2015.
