It’s a transfer saga that Arsenal supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to see completed as Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain still ponders a possible summer move to the Emirates Stadium, as reported by Metro.
Understandably Arsenal staff are growing increasingly frustrated with the Argentine delaying the transfer and have now given a deadline for the striker to finally sign a contract worth an estimated £150,000-a-week with the Premier League side.
The Gunners have already agreed a club-record deal worth £22million for the 25-year-old forward but he is yet to fly to England in order to complete the transfer leaving Gunners supporters desperate to see a positive conclusion.
Higuain has stalled on the Arsenal switch after speaking to new Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti who gave him hope that he may still have a future with the La Liga club. There are concerns around the tavern that Higuain will now remain at the Bernabeu rather than making the move to the Emirates Stadium as expected.
Premier League stars Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez are other targets if the deal falls through but they will cost considerably more and the clubs in question are unlikely to sell their players to a rival English side.
This could leave Arsene Wenger without the top class striker he so craves as the Gunners look to compete again at the top of the Premier League.
