Arsenal handed blow in quest to land incredible European forward

Alvaro MorataArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern enjoying a pub lunch and dreaming of a high-profile striking addition this year have seen their dreams shattered, with a top-target appearing to be off the market.

The Daily Express states that Arsenal’s interest in bringing Alvaro Morata to North London has hit a dead end, with Juventus insisted that they will not sell the Spanish forward.

Morata moved to Turin in 2014 and was tipped to return to Real Madrid this summer, who possess a buy-back clause, but the transfer ban imposed by FIFA put that move in doubt- and moved Arsenal to the front of the queue.

However, Juventus’ sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has ruled-out any exit for Morata– who has scored just one this season.

“We have no interest in dealing with Real Madrid or any other club. We’ve never considered selling Morata. He’s part of the backbone of this team; he’s a youngster who has shown he’s the real thing. We’re used to keeping hold of players like him.”

A number of our punters are gutted by this development, as they believed the Champions League finalist is the ideal young striker to improve their forward line and develop into a world-beater.

Our landlord agrees with that claim and has urged Arsenal not to give up hope, stating they should try their luck with a bid at the end of the season.

Arsenal fans, would Morata be an upgrade on Giroud? Let us know in the comments below!
