Arsenal handed blow in quest to secure stellar striker

Gonzalo HiguainThe Arsenal supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are desperately hoping their team can secure the Premier League title this season, as they feel that a title in the bag would allow them to attract a stellar signing in the summer.

Our landlord here in the Tavern has spotted some disappointing news for the regular Gunners contingency on talkSPORT, which suggests Gonzalo Higuain will not be signing for the North London-based club.

The Argentinean striker is currently a Napoli player and the Serie A outfit have warned Arsenal and Bayern Munich off the prospect of securing his signature in the summer.

One Gunners fan is sat doing the crossword in the paper with a pint of the landlord’s best bitter and thinks signing the 28-year-old was always going to be a long shot anyway, but does expect the club to secure at least one top class signing in the summer.

Arsenal fans… Is this a blow ahead of the summer? Is Arsene Wenger still capable of signing the world’s best players? Who would you like the club to sign?
