Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been moping around the jukebox since Sunday’s defeat to Chelsea but they’ve quickly found a spring in their step with perfectly timed injury boost.
The Mirror states Arsenal have been handed a timely boost with the projected return of Francis Coquelin much earlier than expected, as the French midfielder is currently in-line to feature in the next Premier League clash against Southampton.
Arsenal have struggled to cope without Coquelin, a key member of their first-team, and his absence was clear to see at the weekend as Chelsea dominated the midfield during their narrow victory at the Emirates Stadium.
Fortunately for Arsenal, those problems appear to be coming to a close and Coquelin has an outside chance of featuring in the FA Cup clash with Burnley this weekend.
It’s unlikely Coquelin will be risked for a game where Arsenal should secure a comfortable passage to the fifth-round of a competition they’ve won for the past two seasons.
Our landlord believes this news could propel Arsenal’s Premier League push, stating the return of Coquelin is just as important as Sergio Aguero’s return for Manchester City.
Arsenal fans, is Coquelin the key to Premier League success? Let us know in the comments below!
