The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are patiently awaiting confirmation of their club’s first summer signing…
Fortunately for them, it doesn’t look like they are going to have to wait too long, with Kaveh Solhekol reporting on Twitter that the Gunners are closing in on a move for talented Nigerian attacker Henry Onyekuru. Solhekol notes that the Gunners have agreed a fee for the player, with just personal terms left to be discussed.

Whilst he is still a relatively unknown figure in the Transfer Tavern, the Arsenal fans in attendance are still pleased with this news. If nothing else, it highlights that the club are moving to ensure that their summer targets are sealed quickly, and that can only be a good thing for Arsenal.
For his part, Henry Onyekuru scored 11 goals in the Belgian top flight this season, highlighting his proficiency in front of goal.
Arsene Wenger has made a point of signing young players in recent years, to varying levels of success, but given Onyekuru’s fine form this season, this deal seems like markedly less of a risk.
