Punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are keen to hear the latest claim coming from Metro.
The publication seem to be under the impression that Arsenal are set to revisit the idea of bidding for Swansea City defender Ashley Williams this summer.
As one of our regulars notes over a beer and burger combo, this rumour is certainly one that has been doing the rounds and we think that it may well just be paper talk once again.
There is no denying that the Gunners could do with a little bit more solidity in their back four and a move for Williams could well provide just that.
It would be a blow for Welsh side Swansea to lose one of their best players but according to Metro, the Gunners and manager Arsene Wenger may only need to bid around £3 million after the defender asked to leave the Liberty Stadium club.
This of course basically forces the Swans hand who are likely to consider bids for the player and as our landlord reminds us, had Swansea sold last Williams summer, they may well have gotten double that money!
Arsenal fans. Do you think Williams is a steal at £3 million? Let us know your thoughts below.
