Arsenal hoping to secure deal for £65,000-per-week attacker as future plans take shape

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that the Gunners can keep their squad together, regardless of what happens to Arsene Wenger…

This appears likely to come to fruition, too, with the Telegraph reporting that Arsenal’s core group of English players could be set for a prolonged stay at the club – with Arsene Wenger keen to secure new deals for a collection of British stars.

Wenger reportedly said: “We have Ramsey, Chamberlain, Wilshere, Gibbs. All these players, we have to make decisions and manage to keep them together”.

Indeed, all of these players are important, but it is the future of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who reportedly earns £65k-per-week, that is of the utmost important for the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern.

The English midfielder is arguably one of the most talented players in the Premier League, though his performances have been mixed for the majority of his Arsenal career. On his day he is unplayable, but that day has rarely come – though that is a pattern that seems to be changing this season. He has become a fan favourite as of late, though, with his energetic performances offering far more than many of his teammates.

Our landlord thinks that Wenger must keep this group together if he wants to succeed long-term.
