Arsenal hoping to secure agreement with attacker, offer has reportedly been made

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Alexis Sanchez to stay at the club…

The Chilean attacker faces an uncertain future, with his current contract set to conclude at the end of this season, and it has remained quiet over the last few months with regards to Arsenal’s attempts to tie him down long-term.

Indeed, there is real concern in the pub that the Gunners failure to secure a top four finish last season could see Sanchez look to leave, given that the attacker is clearly keen to play at the highest level.

That isn’t going to stop Arsenal from trying to secure his future, though, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Gunners have finally made another attempt to tie him down – with an offer of around £300,000-per-week said to be on the table.

A mammoth offer for any club, the deal would change Arsenal’s current wage structure drastically, but it’s tough to argue that Sanchez isn’t a player worth risking it all for.

It remains unclear as to whether a deal will be signed, but the fact that active attempts are being made to secure his future is enough to keep the fans in the Transfer Tavern happy ahead of the new season.

Landlord’s Verdict

Arsenal have made a couple of major signings this summer, but without doubt their best move would be to secure Sanchez’s future if they are able to.

The Chilean is their best player by far, and last season he became a real talisman for the club during a campaign in which is his teammates really struggled.

It’s a lot of money, but it makes sense.
