Arsenal identify European stopper as prime Cech successor

CechAFCArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased to see their club preparing for the future, as they’ve discussed a new name on the agenda during their Friday night antics.

TuttoMercatoWeb state Arsenal are keen to secure the services of Fiorentina’s teenage goalkeeper Giacomo Satalino, identifying the Italian as the perfect long-term replacement for Petr Cech.

Cech, aged 33, has a few years ahead of him with the Gunners but Arsenal seem keen to ensure they have a top-quality goalkeeper ready to step-in between the sticks when the legend of English football finally calls it a day.

With concerns over both David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny, Arsenal have turned their eyes to Satalino but may face competition for his signature, as both Manchester City and Manchester United are also tracking the 16-year-0ld.

Cech’s contract is due to run until 2019, when the veteran would be 36-years-old, and it’s unlikely he’d extend his deal further- and he may retire altogether, with that year marking his 15th successive season in the English game.

Our landlord believes bringing in Satalino would be a quality decision, as the teenager could learn from the best before stepping into the side in the future.

Arsenal fans, are any of your current goalkeepers good enough to replace Cech? Let us know in the comments below!
