Arsenal identify shock Guardiola alternative to replace Wenger

SampaoliArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern believed their club was going all-out to lure Pep Guardiola to North London in 2017, so they’ve been taken aback by reports that suggest differently.

Spanish website Don Balon claim Arsenal are eying Chile manager Jorge Sampaoli to replace Arsene Wenger in 2017.

The 55-year-old FIFA Coach of the Year nominee lead Chile to Copa America success in the summer and has ties with Arsenal, with Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez making waves with the Gunners.

Arsenal would face competition for the manager’s signature though as it’s stated Manchester City, Roma and Lazio are monitoring the manager’s situation, whilst some reports claim he’s close to joining Brazilian outfit Flamengo.

For the Gunners in the bar, they believe Sampaoli is a decent potential replacement for Arsene Wenger but only if there’s no chance of luring Guardiola to the Emirates- as they state he’s a class above any other manager in world football.

Arsenal fans, would Sampaoli be a good replacement for Wenger? Who do you want? Let us know in the comments below!
