Arsenal in talks to sign World Cup winner from European giants

toni kroosArsenal’s quest for major summer additions has taken an exciting turn today, with fans in the Transfer Tavern praising the club’s approaches for a quality midfielder.

The Daily Mirror states that Arsenal have opened talks with Toni Kroos regarding a summer transfer, with the World Cup winner likely to be ousted from Real Madrid at the end of the season amidst a major overhaul in the Spanish capital.

Arsenal are in need of midfield recruits this summer as Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky are set to depart, whilst veteran Santi Cazorla is approaching the final 12 months of his own contract at the Emirates.

However, Kroos is not Arsenal’s first choice, as that honour belongs to Borussia Monchengladbach’s Granit Xhaka, but Arsene Wenger is keeping his options open ahead of what will be a fiercely contested transfer window.

With Arsenal already boasting German contingents in the form of Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Serge Gnabry, Kroos could fit in perfectly in north London.
