Arsenal never seem to be out of the news here in the Football Transfer Tavern and now it seems that the club are tracking Lille’s Dimitri Payet – according to the Daily Mail that is.
The 26-year-old winger has been impressive in Ligue 1 and has managed to plant himself firmly on the radar of Arsene Wenger.
The Frenchman thinks that he has a good chance of landing the player from Lille and is willing to spend a portion of his £70 million summer kitty in order to do so.
The club are also preparing to make a bid for Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain and edge in front of Juventus in the race for the forward.
Whilst it has been made very clear by the Argentine and his representatives that Pipita wants to leave Real Madrid, it seems that despite the interest from both the Premier League and also Serie A, the Spanish side will not let the forward leave unless a new manager comes in and makes that decision.
Wenger of course has been heavily linked with a host of players this summer and it seems that Payet is just the latest in a long line.
Will Arsenal gun for the signature of Payet this summer? Rate this rumour below.
