Metro have a claim that has our regulars in the Football Transfer Tavern looking up with interest, as they claim that Arsenal could be in the race for Mario Balotelli.
As some of our regulars point out before ordering another pint from the bar, Balotelli certainly had a bad boy reputation during his first spell in England and became something of a cult figure at Manchester City.
Now it seems that he could well be on his way back, but this time to London, with both Chelsea and Arsenal linked with the AC Milan forward in recent weeks.
Both clubs are in dire need of a forward and Jose Mourinho knows the Italian well from their time at Inter Milan together. Quite if that is a good thing however remains to be seen!
Arsene Wenger meanwhile has become frustrated with his transfer failings and after trying to land Lille’s Salomon Kalou and missing out on the Ivorian forward, he has turned his attentions to one of the most controversial forwards in the game.
Balotelli is looking to leave Italy, with AC Milan failing to challenge for titles and at the minute, it is even touch and go as to if they will even make it into the Champions League at all.
Is there any smidgen of truth in this rumour or is it best served as tomorrow’s fish and chip paper? Let us know your thoughts below.
