There is a feeling of surprise around the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by talkSPORT that a trio of Premier League clubs are chasing former West Bromwich Albion flop Borja Valero.
The player was quite simply awful during his time in the Premier League but has reinvigorated his career with a move to Serie A and Fiorentina where he has only missed one of the 33 games the side have played this season, being a pivotal part of their success. At 28-years-old the player is in the prime of his career and now could well be set to reap the rewards.
After joining the Italian side from relegated La Liga outfit Villarreal last summer it could well be time for another move with not only Arsenal but also Tottenham and Manchester City making eyes at the player who despite having bad memories from his time at The Hawthorns could be willing to make a move back to the league and prove all his doubters wrong.
Current club Fiorentina would be understandably unwilling to let the player go and all three Premier League clubs are fully aware that not only do they have to battle it out between themselves for the player but they have to convince his current club to allow him to leave to boot.
Who will win the fight for Valero? Will he be a Premier League player in 2013/14? Rate this rumour below.
