Arsenal international set for loan with Southampton

Calum ChambersThe Southampton fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that a former player could be set to rejoin the club.

The Sun is reporting that Callum Chambers could be set for a move back to St Marys on loan when the transfer window opens next month.

The 20-year-old defender has seen first team opportunities at Arsenal hard to come by this season, and it is believed that Arsene Wenger is prepared to let the player leave on loan to achieve some competitive game time.

Any move will only go ahead though should Mathieu Debuchy remain at the Emirates Stadium as it would leave them lacking back up in the right back position, with only Hector Bellerin a suitable option.

Should the move happen, it will see Chambers return to the South Coast for the rest of this season with a view to spending next season at St Marys on loan.

The Southampton fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted that they could be bringing Chambers back to the club on loan, and look forward to seeing him turn out for the club should the deal be completed in January.

Arsenal fans, would a loan for Chambers be a good decision? Let us know in the comments below!
