Arsenal international set for return, transfer negotiations stalling

Wojciech SzczesnysArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are wondering what the future holds for one forgotten man, who has seen a move fall through in recent weeks.

The Guardian states Wojciech Szczesny is expected to return to Arsenal after the European Championships, having spent last season on-loan in Italy with Serie A giants Roma.

Szczesny impressed during his spell in Rome and enjoyed working with Luciano Spalletti, who took charge of the club again back in January, and previously expressed his desire to continue working with the Italian side, as they look to de-throne Juventus.

However, Arsenal are yet to receive an acceptable offer from Roma as the Gunners will look to pay less of the Poland international’s wages next season and the Euro 2016 stopper is expected to pen a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

Szczesny has stated he will focus on Poland’s Euro 2016 campaign, with a crunch-tie with Ukraine this week set to decide his nation’s progression to the knock-out stages, but our landlord expects this story to develop further come July.

Arsenal fans, would it be better to offload Szczesny permanently? Let us know in the comments below!
