The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern still don’t know who is going to be their manager next season…
Arsene Wenger has yet to sign a new deal, and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season – the Arsenal faithful are seriously concerned that their summer could be wasted as their managerial problems get resolved.
It doesn’t seem that that is likely to be the case, though, with the Daily Mail reporting that Arsenal have already got their sights set on one potential target.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are eying a summer move for Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Chelsea are reportedly keen on him too, but it would appear as though Wenger and Co are looking to steal a march on their London rivals.
A 23-year-old left-back, Kolasnic would serve as a bit of additional depth on the flanks of the Arsenal defence, with both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs failing to impress so far this season.
The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern think that he would be a good signing, though they think that it would almost certainly spell the end of Kieran Gibbs’ tenure in London. Already playing second-fiddle to Monreal, Gibbs would likely be forced further down the pecking order at Arsenal if Kolasinac joined – leaving little room for him in the squad.
Our landlord is expecting the Gunners and the Blues to battle it out as the season comes to a close…
