The Metro state Arsenal are the latest club to express their interest in Porto’s 18-year-old midfielder Ruben Neves, joining Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea in the hunt.
Arsene Wenger has a knack of spotting a young talent but his interest isn’t unique in this sense, as Porto fight valiantly to keep-hold of the youngest ever captain in the Champions League; with their president stating yesterday that they want the teenager to become a club legend.
However it may prove to be a stern test with the eyes of Europe’s finest firmly fixed upon the young Portuguese international, who are targeting a January swoop- but may find it difficult, as Porto currently lead their Champions League group, ahead of Chelsea, and look like an outside bet of reaching the final stages of the competition.
Ruben Neves is likely to see how this pans out for the club and it could be crucial for the Portuguese side, as a failure to perform may see the teenager target a move to a bigger side that can battle for honours on the continent.
