It’s been a tough old season for Arsenal in the Premier League, with manager Arsene Wenger coming under serious pressure to get results after a shocking season domestically and in the Champions League.
Gunners fans here in the pub have been left seriously disappointed with the way the season has panned out over the past couple of months and the pressure is beginning to tell on Wenger, who’s future looks extremely uncertain come the end of the season.
And at times, you feel that the Gunners might have done better with a player like Kylian Mbappe, who has absolutely taken the world by storm during the second half of the season for Monaco.
And former Arsenal star Martin Keown knows that his side would have benefitted with a player like Mbappe in the club both now and ten years ago, when he was at the club.
“This kid (Mbappe) is younger, more powerful at the moment than Marcus Rashford,” Keown told the BT Sports panel earlier this week.
“He is drawing comparisons with Thierry Henry but the impact he has made reminds me of Nicolas Anelka — especially the way he finishes,” a report in the Express states.
And when asked about which Premier League side could sign Mbappe in the summer, Keown added: “Had he burst onto the scene 10 years ago at Arsenal he would have answered their prayers!”
Mbappe has made 36 appearances for Monaco this season and has been hotly tipped with a move away from the club this summer and the Gunners fans lined up at the bar would love to see him join the club!
