The Swansea City fans playing darts in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports that an Arsenal legend is among the favourites for the vacant managers post at The Liberty Stadium.
The Express is reporting that Dennis Bergkamp is the leading candidate to replace Garry Monk, who was sacked by the Welsh club yesterday afternoon.
Talks as soon as Monk was sacked were about a possible return for former manager Brendan Rodgers but it is believed that he will not be looking to take on the top job at any club until the summer.
Bergkamp is a big favourite of chairman Huw Jenkins, who reportedly considered offering the Arsenal legend the position when Rodgers left the club for Liverpool, but felt that it was to early in his coaching career to take a chance.
The Dutchman has been assistant at Ajax for the last four years and is believed to be ready to make the step up in management.
The Swansea fans in The Transfer Tavern would welcome the appointment of Bergkamp to the squad, although they would like someone with more experience in management as the club sit close to the relegation places in the Premier League table.
