Arsenal legend favourite to succeed Wenger this summer

Dennis Bergkamp - £7.5 millionArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have endured another tough weekend, which saw them slip further out of the running in the Premier League title race and extend their woeful run to just two wins from the past 12 matches.

As such, many of our punters are growing increasingly frustrated with Arsene Wenger and are calling for the Frenchman to end his 20-years in charge of the Gunners this summer.

Metro have increased speculation on Wenger being replaced this summer as they’ve revealed that former Arsenal forward Dennis Bergkamp is the favourite to succeed his former boss in the hot seat.

Bergkamp, who’s Arsenal testimony was the first match to be played at the Emirates Stadium, is currently assistant at Dutch side Ajax and he’s expected to make the jump into first-team manager somewhere in the coming years.

It seems many are optimistic that Bergkamp could make such a move this summer, with the Dutchman rated ahead of former team-mates Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry in contention for next Arsenal manager, as well as the likes of Ronald Koeman and Roberto Martinez.

Our landlord is concerned though as he feels Arsenal need an experienced boss and Bergkamp has yet to prove himself as a manager.

Arsenal fans, would bringing in Bergkamp as a manager be a good decision? Let us know in the comments below!
